Things To Do In Gulf Shores On A Rainy Day

rainy days in gulf shores

What to do when the sun doesn't come out for you? Well, in Gulf Shores rainy days are few and even when it does, the rains rarely last all day. Luckily, there are many things to do on a rainy day and almost all are close and convenient to our premier vacation rentals. Just know these out-of-the-weather activities are all fun and family-friendly, so you'll be glad you have an excuse to try out as many as your vacation allows. Here are some of our favorites and we know you'll enjoy them until it's real beach weather again.

The Factory

Here, the motto is "Play now. Grow up later." With fun and exciting activities like trapeze, flight simulator, dodgeball, obstacle course, foam pits, mega slide, arcade games and more, it might be a little challenging to determine who the biggest kids are. Parents, teens and the young ones love it here.

XIT Escape Rooms

These are real-life room escape games where people are in a room and have 60 minutes to escape. Choose from theme games such as Insane Asylum, A Tale Of Two Forts, CSI: Gulf Shores and Movie Night. Think you can make it?

Fat Daddy's Arcade

Our guests love this location in Gulf Shores. It's right on the Intracoastal Waterway within walking distance to Lulu's Restaurant. At The Track, you'll find go-karts, mini-golf, kiddie rides, blaster boats, the Skycoaster and one of the biggest arcades around!

Cobb Pinnacle 14 Theaters

On Tuesdays, enjoy $5 Ticket Tuesday and then after the movie, kids can create alternate endings and act them out or design movie posters inspired by the film they just saw.

Swift-Coles Historic Home

In nearby Bon Secour, tour this historic home built in 1882. It's a plantation-style home with over 3.000 square feet of porches. It's open to the public on Tuesdays and Fridays. Anyone else loves to watch the rain on the beach as much as we do?

USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park.

Explore the greatness of this WWII battleship, the USS DRUM Submarine and more than 25 aircraft at Mobile's Memorial Park. One of the most treasured pieces is the A-12 Black Bird. It's a super-secret spy plane that flew at 2,300 mph and was used by the CIA. Special tip: Active duty military is admitted free.

Hoping to keep it low-key, low-tech, family-friendly and safe? So long as it's just raining, but not stormy, get into your swimsuits and stroll along the water's edge. Rain on the beach can be very beautiful and calming. Just be sure to follow the beach flag warning system to know if it's safe to get out in it.

And, our premier vacation rentals are hard to beat when it comes to relaxing and staying in on a rainy day. Snuggle up with a good book or take a nap. The sun, much like prosperity, is just around the corner. You'll be back out in sunny beach weather in no time.
