City of Gulf Shores Officials continue to monitor the developments of, what is now, Hurricane Zeta. The National Weather Service has issued a tropical storm watch and storm surge watch for our local area. As of the 5 p.m. CST briefing issued by the National Weather Service, Zeta is forecast to make landfall somewhere along the northern Gulf Coast on Wednesday evening near the Louisiana/Mississippi border. While specific impacts will depend on Zeta's final strength and track, our local area will likely see the threat of dangerous storm surge of 4 to 6 feet, surf heights of 8 to 12 feet, deadly rip currents, strong winds, coastal flooding, and isolated tornadoes.
